Discover Why Ladder Racks And Husky Liners Are The Bread And Butter Combo

!±8± Discover Why Ladder Racks And Husky Liners Are The Bread And Butter Combo

After graduating high school I realized that college wasn't for me. I wasn't interested in writing papers, attending lectures and burning the midnight oil at the library. For me, there was just one interest - running my own business. So that's exactly what I did.

It all started with a truck. I bought a used red and white 1992 Ford F150 off some old man that lived down the street from me. He cut me a good deal because he wasn't able to get in and out of it anymore. It wasn't the best looking girl at the party - had dings all over it, some rust spots and a bent bumper - but it got the job done. What really sold me on it was the big bed. From lawnmowers to rakes, the back of this truck held pretty much everything I needed. That was until my business started to take off.

Word started getting around that I did a good job so my I started getting a lot more business. The problem now was that I needed to expand. That's one thing my grandpa always told me. "You gotta keep growing. If you don't, you're dead in the water." So I took pops advice and hired a partner. He didn't have a truck but he was ready to work hard and owned lot of equipment. That huge f150 bed didn't seem so big anymore. What was once an empty metal storage area suddenly seemed a lot smaller.

We knew we had to do something about our overflowing tools so we invested in a ladder rack, which worked out great. It could hold all of our ladders, long tree saws and any other oversized equipment we needed. We also invested in a nice set of Husky floor liners. After spending 4 hours outside cutting branches, trimming hedges, and edging lawns we're covered in grass, leaves, dirt and sweat. Even though we expect our truck to get dirty, nothing's worse then having to spend everyday driving around in your own filth. Our interior was disgusting; constantly get caked with mud and grass. With the new floor mats, we could just pull out the mess, hose them down and be good to go.

A few years have passed since those days of driving around in a beat up f150. We ended up buying two new trucks. We each have a 2007 F250 with trailers for our gear. We have also hired more workers to accommodate all the business we get. Our crew now consists of 10 workers and we have expanded our services to include snow plowing during the winter months.

But guess what? We still have our ladder racks on the back and sturdy floor mats in the cab. Even though we keep expanding, we will always use these "bread and butter" items. You'll be surprised how helpful these items can be. Like this one time, Jerry sliced his hand wide open on one of the chain saws. Blood was pouring out of him like the Colorado River rapids. I quickly wrapped a towel around his hand, shoved him in the truck, and sped to the hospital. When we finally got there, the floor in front of him was covered in blood. Luckily, most of the liquid was contained in the floor liner. I was able to dump the blood out of my truck without staining the interior and you can barely see it now. These staples have saved our butts many times, just thought I'd let you guys know.

Air Compressor - Vital Piece Of Equipment

!±8± Air Compressor - Vital Piece Of Equipment

For handling power tools, an air compressor is an important piece of apparatus. These tools are easier to handle and also very capable. You should select the type according to the tools you will use. Some of the high quality air compressors are Copeland, Quincy or Husky air compressors.

Some factors you should be careful about:

First you have to decide that how you will use the high pressure air compressor and how often. Also select the proper tools and actual power, which are required to make it functional. Many tools, such as nail guns, don't require compressors of high volume. Some other tools like sanders or drills need strong and powerful airflow and so they require high volume compressor.

A financial plan is a must before buying. Different brand costs different price, which varies a lot from one another. One way to make your budget widen more is buying a used compressor.

Another thing you should be concerned about is the style of the pump. The belt drive and the direct drive are the most common among which direct drive pumps last up to 500 hours or more. It occupies less space in the room. These pumps are compatible for moderate function. No oil changes are desired for direct drive pumps whereas belt drive pumps need oil changes each 500 hours. It lasts for fifteen hundred hours or more. Belt drive pumps are good for provisional as well as proficient application.

You should also be aware about the power of this apparatus. Both the horsepower and pound per square inch pressure should be considered. Confirm it is more forceful than the most forceful apparatus you are going to use. Before buying the compressor check your apparatus.

Another significant concern is the tank size. You can get 2 to 100 gallons from these. The size of the tank depends on how much equipments you are using and it increases with the number of equipments. You should always use a slight larger one so that you can get the best possible use from the compressor all the time.

Go for an economical air compressor for your workshop

Go to different shops to compare prices before buying air compressor. From the Internet you can also estimate brands and read reviews. The machines and features of each compressor should be observed carefully. Machines can vary by hundreds of dollars though they are almost similar in qualities.

You can even choose a reconditioned apparatus. But then the machines have been entirely checked. Damaged air compressor parts are altered. Some of these are in almost new condition as have gotten very little use. Find out equipments of reasonable prices so that you can save a good amount. Buy a model with a one-year warranty to ensure that you are getting the quality apparatus.

You can go for online shopping. You can often find the costs are significantly less than in some shops. Some deliver straight from the factory and save retail mark up, which can be considerable. Most of the cases you won't have to pay sales tax on the tools, which can add together. Some web sites provide free shipping on purchases and in that case you won't have to pay extra charge.

2009 Boston Marathon - At Last, American-Born Runners Click it Up a Notch Against African Winners

!±8± 2009 Boston Marathon - At Last, American-Born Runners Click it Up a Notch Against African Winners

The American marketing nightmare that is the Boston Marathon is not going away, but at least two American-born athletes have now offered us a glimmer of hope that we might at sometime in the 21st Century win the race that we own.

Two world-class African athletes-a male Ethiopian and a female Kenyan-again swept the titles at the 2009 Boston Marathon on Monday (4-20-09). Their names-Deriba Merga (male) and Salina Kosgei-and their ethnicity do not help their popularity or marketability in America despite their world-class performances.

It is difficult, if not impossible, to achieve market potential with world-class foreign athletes on American soil. It does not matter how much they win or how many records they set. Nobody in America seems to care.

Imagine a Nike ad that says, "Just Do It. Like Kebede, Cheruiyot, Asfaw, Kiogora and Cherigat." Not exactly household names recognizable by millions of Americans. Now say, "Just Do It, like Bill Rodgers and Frank Shorter". A world of difference, and that is the point.

Bill Rodgers and Frank Shorter literally jump-started the running boom in America in the early 1970s. Shorter won the marathon at the 1972 Munich Olympics and was runner-up at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Bill Rodgers won both the Boston Marathon and the New York Marathon 4 times each between 1975 and 1980. Joan Benoit Samuelson won the marathon at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

The marketability of Rodgers and Benoit fueled America's running boom and generated billions in revenue while creating new markets and products along the way. Rodgers was born in Connecticut, Benoit in Maine.

The demise of American distance runners that can win signature world events has been horrific in recent years. You would not even know that we took a distance running team to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. We had only 1 athlete-Shalane Flanagan-who thought she could win and came home with a Bronze Medal. America won exactly 1 of 32 possible medals in events from the 800-meter run to the marathon.

The rise of the African dominance in the Boston Marathon has been nothing short of meteoric, especially among the men. Kenyans have won the Boston Marathon 16 times in last 19 years; throw in 2 Ethiopian winners and Africans have won the Boston Marathon 18 times in the last 19 years. And the other lone, non-African winner in the last 19 years? He was South Korean.

If you do not think this is a sorry mess for America, you know nothing about running or the history of running in America. It would seem that the great running boom in America was slowed down by too much success and money, in other words, we have gone soft.

We once dominated the Boston Marathon. From its inception in 1897 to 1945, American-born runners won the race 34 of 49 times (69%). During that stretch, Clarence DeMar won 7 times while breaking the course record 4 times, and Americans won 10 years straight from 1916 to 1925.

The African runners who came to America to run road races in the last two decades were poverty-stricken and hungry. They returned home as heroes and "millionaires". They still appear hungry and show no signs of slowing down, which means American runners had better click it up or spend every race looking at their rear ends. There is a reason why every Husky in the Iditarod dog sled race wants to be the lead dog in the pack.

And now, American-born runners Kara Goucher and Ryan Hall have finally begun to believe that they can win the Boston Marathon. We know this because Goucher finished 3rd among women in this year's 113th Boston Marathon, clocking 2:32.25, a scant 9 seconds behind the winner. If she could have found 10 seconds more during 26+ miles, she would have won this year's Boston Marathon.

Goucher ran 5:09 in her 24th mile and had led the race for a half-hour, but was just nipped at the end of a great dream. It was only her second marathon. She has arrived; and now she must train harder and finish stronger at Boston to win. Goucher is coached by Alberto Salazar, who won the 1982 Boston Marathon in a course-record 2:08.52. God bless Kara Goucher, we are not making many winners in America recently.

Hall also finished 3rd in his race. He clocked 2:09.40, almost a minute (58 seconds) behind the winner, but keeps improving and definitely stuck around long enough to be worrisome to some other runners.

Kenyan Robert Cheruiyot (say something close to Cherry-ott), who had won the race the last 3 years, finished 5th behind Hall, so there is some hope for the Americans.

Perhaps 3 Boston victories and pockets stuffed with money affected Cheruiyot, who would be considered beyond wealthy in Kenya. There may be a lot more Kenyans with more money than Cheruiyot, but not many could match his fame and popularity.

In a footnote, 45-year-old masters runner Colleen De Reuck finished 8th among the women. It was an incredible run for De Reuck. The bad news is that her world-class competitors were young enough to be her daughters; the good news is that they were not young enough to be her granddaughters. A salute from the heart to Colleen De Reuck.

While things are looking up in Boston for American-born runners, we will not arrive until Americans again win both races. The last American-man or woman-to win the Boston Marathon was Lisa Larsen Weidenbach in 1985, and it was her debut run at Boston. I believe it was in 1991 that the prize money started. This year's winner took home a check for 150,000 American dollars.

The last Boston Marathon that saw Americans win both races was 1983, when Greg Meyer won in 2:09.00 and Joan Benoit (sound familiar) won in 2:22.43, setting not only a course record but a world marathon record. It was Benoit's 2nd Boston victory after first winning in 1979.

As they say in Africa's Sahara, which covers 3.5 million square miles and ranks as the world's largest desert, it is a long time across the desert and it has been a long time between rains.

Le ROI Air Compressor Excellence

!±8± Le ROI Air Compressor Excellence

Le ROI is one of the most experienced manufacturers of air compressors in the world. Founded in 1916, Le ROI air compressors have provided countless hours of reliable service with the most efficient machines on the market. Le ROI gas compressors feature heavy duty construction that is all iron or steel, integral gearing and porting, and longer bearing life. The rotary screw compressors are available in twelve models, ranging from 10 to 800 horsepower and are air or water cooled.

Rotary screw compressors are very cost efficient for handling high volumes of work. Because they have few moving parts, ROI air compressors bestow high reliability with minimal maintenance. There are no rings, packing or valves to wear out and no foundation is required. ROI gas compressors provide smooth operations with no piping vibrations from pressure pulsations. These compressors are constructed solely from iron or steel with no copper or copper alloy which makes them compatible with natural gases.

Single-stage rotary screw compressors are positive displacement machinery. They produce force by filling a void between two helical mated screws with air. As the screws are turned, the volume of the air-filled space is reduced resulting in increased pressure. Le ROI air compressors are equipped with the most up-to-date screw cutting technology to provide unsurpassed, consistent power output. Single-stage operation from 20 PSIG (pound per square inch gauge) to 350 PSIG is attainable with numerous Le ROI compressor models including the HG12, HG17 and HGF series. The LG30 and LGL30 offer PGSI ranging from 5 to 200. Discharge porting is available for maximum compression effectiveness.

Le ROI offers several two-stage compressors which are designed for heavy duty use and offer a higher level of compression. A two-stage compressor generates less heat resulting in less wear on the machine. It can also store air for future use and is more energy efficient. In a two-stage compressor, the work is divided between two stages which reduces the force on any rotating parts thus increasing the reliability and years of operation of the machine. Le ROI air compressors are available in four two-stage models which range from 350 to 600 horsepower. The HGT17 and HGT24 series supply operation from 250 PSIG to 500 PSIG.

!±8± Know Your Dog's Paw Health Issues

Dog health and its paw problems should be cared properly by the dog owners. More and more people are going for dogs as a pet animal as these animals are lovely by the look and are very affectionate with the owners. These dogs earn the family member status in most of the houses because of their behavior. Let us discuss about the dog health and paw problems of the dog here.

The paws, the different types of the paws and its problems

The paws of the dogs can be compared to the sole of the foot of the human beings. The paws of the dogs are the same basically in all aspects in all the breeds of the dogs. There slight difference in some dogs. In dogs the third digital bone is much shorter; hence they are also called as cat feet. The breeds like Doberman, Akita, Finnish spitz, new found land, giant schnauzer, bull terrier, Airedale terrier, kees hound, and English sheep dog are the examples of breeds with cat like feet. This kind of feet helps the dog in many ways. The dog requires very less energy to lift the feet. The dogs can move faster. Some dogs are having hare feet. Here the center toes are longer than the side toes. The breeds that are having hare feet are also called are toy breeds. They are Bedlington terrier, Samoyed, Skye terrier, grey hound and borzoi.

The main purpose of the paw of the dog is to absorb the shock while jumping and running. The paw also gives flexibility in the movement. These paws bear the weight of the animal while the animal is on the move. The structural faults like straight shoulders, loose shoulders and hips, and imbalance between the front and back structure can affect the paw of the dogs. Hence these structural abnormalities need to be corrected in order to protect the paw.

The paws are likely to be damaged more as these parts are constantly in touch with the floor. The paws need to be checked for any wound at periodic interval. In case if there is any, it should be treated at once, otherwise the organisms can gain entry in to the body thus establishing serious infection.

Hence by taking care of the dog as a member of the family, the dog health and its paw problems can be protected.

How I Saved My Dog Daniel

!±8± How I Saved My Dog Daniel

I've never had a pet when I was a kid because my parents could not afford to have one. If properly taken care of a pet can cost money. For this reason, I've never really been an animal lover, the family dog came to Daniel in my life. A small dog, weighing about 10-15 pounds wet, Daniel. But that little mutt was a personality that make people laugh, which I did. We connected immediately, and went everywhere with me ... the grocery store, post office, and every timeI went jogging, he came and he loved it.

"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than yourself." Josh Billings

One day I was working on the computer in the middle of the afternoon, and the corner of my eye, I was watching a TV talk show. The show was a great variety of things, but what caught my attention was the part where the guest and the host talked about something called the Heimlich maneuver describedFollowing:

"An emergency technique used to throw an object, such as forcing the food from the trachea of a person choking. Employees technology company pushed up just below the rib cage to air out the lungs."

I had heard of this technique before, but I never used it, and I never saw it used by someone else, either. But what was interesting in the show, is that they are about how this technology could be used to talk not only to human beings, but as might be used in pets, too. This caught my interest and I stopped working at the computer and I saw and heard what was said, etc.

I was hoping that I would never use this technique to Daniel, but you never know. Dogs can be so unpredictable in their behavior. My own description of the technique is as follows: For a person with a backpack, a hug and forcing the pressure on the stomach to force the object out and in the air (this is as good as I can describe) I knew not theTechnique could also apply to the pets, so I learned something new. I made some notes during the program that may be helpful in the future.

"There is no faith which has never been interrupted, unless a truly faithful dog." Konrad Lornenz

When it came to walking and jogging, I'd do that for over twenty years, about 15 miles a week. I liked Daniel to take with me, and loved to go out in the open and lead! I walked into this big open field, and I would likeDaniel from the leash and give it some 'freedom. But I would keep an eye on him. He moved to a rabbit, once crossed the highway and almost hit by a car! Dogs know nothing of research in both directions before crossing the road!

On this day, it was a hot August afternoon when the sun went down. Daniel and I were doing some 'trekking and jogging. As I said, I do not have much experience with dogs, but it seems to me that they are always hungry, andalways looking for something to eat. Even if you just finished eating, they are still looking for something to eat in the bushes, and when they find it ... eat it! There are a lot of dangerous things out there, waiting for a dog to eat, such as antifreeze to kill an animal or sharp old bones of a dead bird. etc.

"The best people I know ... the more I find myself loving dogs." Charles de Gaulle

Instead of calling my dog Daniel, I called him "Hoover"because it was always sucks to see everything, and I had to see it as a small child. However, we were at the camp on foot and only cooling after jogging, and Daniel was about 20 meters behind me. and I would check up on him all the time to see if he was doing well. And then it happened ...

I looked back to see Daniel, and he had something in his mouth. Looked like an old piece of meat. I immediately yelled at him to drop it! DANIEL shouted down, Ion him! But instead of deleting the object, she swallowed! When I shouted at him, ran to him! At a time when he was head and gagging and choking! His legs went a bit 'of a mile a minute as he struggled to get air!

When I saw this happen, I have come to the ... But there was no time for emotions! There were only a few seconds to act! Daniel wanted to die in seconds if I do something, FAST! But what could I do that in the middle of nowhere! There was no help, we werewere! PANIC TIME was, and very quickly, I remembered the Heimlich maneuver on the TV show! But how can I give Daniel ... It was so small? I could not in an embrace ... that was stupid! I should have thought of that before ... However, I do not!

One liter of sweat and tears streaming down my face and always in my eyes! Seconds were ticking, and I was afraid that Daniel wanted to die in my arms! All I could do what I do is, was, that a version thatHeimlich maneuver! So I took Daniel from the coat on the back of the neck, stood up and beat Daniel in the stomach between your ribs! Nothing happened ... I panicked! I think it did not hit enough, I was forced to hit it harder, although I did wrong! Better a live dog with blue spots and a couple of broken ribs, deader than a dog!

I must say that I have never been so scared in my life when Daniel died, and the seconds were ticking! It was a matter of life or death!Once again ... I grabbed the fur on the back of the neck ... He was up and hit him in the stomach just below the ribs ... THIS HARD TIME ... and the object flew out of his mouth, and landed about six feet away! Boy was I relieved! I could see that Daniel could see your breath now, and he was back in order! I was exhausted ... I've never been so tired so quickly in my life!

I put Daniel on the ground and protected from the sun, and let it sit therefor a while '. With tears streaming down my face, drowning in sweat, I perspire 30 gallons in 30 seconds! I was wet! I had never been so quick to act, to act as if I had that day! I sat on the floor and tried to pull myself together. Daniel was lying on the floor beside me, looking at me with those brown eyes glazed, as if to say: "Thanks." I could not express relief that I felt when I knew Daniel would have been good! We were both about what just happened was shocked!

I have notDaniel wants in the heat of the day too long, so it was time to return to the car. I am standing, and it seemed ok. I had on my shoulder, where he wanted to go, and we drove slowly towards the car. I must say that those were the worst 30 seconds of my life ... But he had a happy ending after all.

"A person who has never owned a dog, has lost a wonderful part of life." Bob Barker

A few days later, I told one of my neighbors for theIncident with Daniel, because he had a dog, and the story of Daniel has been of interest to him. Surprisingly, an accident happened to his dog to him a few weeks later. He told how he saved his dog.

Neighbor's dog has to be something that disagrees with him, ate, and the dog was violently sick! The dog lay on its side against the wall ... vomiting and respiratory problems! Neighbors recalled the story that I told Daniel, so he punched the dog inStomach just below the ribs, and threw the dog! But the dog still had problems breathing and choking on his own vomit, the next shot the dog in the stomach for the second time! Vomiting always come back, and now the dog could breathe easier! The neighbor stayed with the dog all night and morning, the dog is feeling better! This technique has saved the life of my dog, and it was another happy ending!

Each of us knows how to hit in the stomach, feeling andhave eliminated the wind out of us! It 'a terrible feeling for sure! But when something terrible happens to a human or an animal like this, you must act quickly! Do not worry about bruising or injuring the person or pet ... is a matter of life or death!
